Salvagnini Group undertook an ambitious project to move the IT infrastructure of its 22 companies in 20 countries across 3 continents, with 1,800 end users, to Azure IaaS.
The project scope included a mission-critical Oracle RAC database cluster that had to be lifted and shifted to the cloud platform in a compressed timeline, without risking unplanned downtime in the process or after the transition.
FlashGrid worked with SoftJam, a distinguished Microsoft Partner chosen by Salvagnini Group to lead the project, to provide technical blueprint, implementation best practices, and infrastructure support processes for the cloud production database based on FlashGrid.
Salvagnini Group successfully completed enterprise-wide migration to Azure IaaS cloud in a limited time frame by a planned deadline, including lifting and shifting a mission-critical Oracle RAC clustered database. The database cluster is now simpler to manage, while meeting availability requirements, and retaining compatibility with existing applications.
